Ohio Citizen Corps volunteers (including but not limited to CERT, MRC, CART, VIP, TAP, NWP, RACES) should register with the Ohio Citizen Corps to receive civil liability protection as described in ORC Sec. 121.404. (B).   In addition to the registration requirement and in order to receive the liability protection, you must also complete a short training course and have your State of Ohio picture ID verified. (typically your drivers license)

To register with the Ohio Citizen Corps click on the graphic below. When you are at that page click on the Yellow (Register New Member) to begin registration.

A few Tips for Registration, 3 Steps

1.  When you arrive at the registration page you will see a yellow box similar to the one below. 
Click on their yellow box for sign up.

Register (New Members) Note: Turn off popup blockers

You will be directed to a series of pages where you can input your information and select an ID with a password.  Complete the information pages on the Serve Ohio web site.

If your information changes in the future you can always return to your registration page and change the info.  Keep your ID and password for future use.

2. The next step is to have your issued State of Ohio picture ID verified (typically your drivers license)

3. The last step is to attend an approved training course offered by one of the corps groups.
